Слава М, Тиммо, м.б.
The name is Erkki Keski-Rauska, ID number: 957296
He served as an soldier in 1./JR58 (10.Division, infantry regiment 58,
company 1) at Rajajoki sector (100-200 meters, north from the Rajajoki
railway bridge).
He wounded in the morning of the 10.6.1944 when they had to leave their
positions in the frontline. When finnish troops had to withdraw his comrades
had to leave him because he was such an bad shape and the soviet pressure
was so high.
I have interviewed thouse who saw him last, and they say that he had just
crossed the Rajajoki river (get into the finnish side) and then some officer
had commanded him to secure others. I have also find out that the place
where he died is near the Rajajoki river (maybe around the river bench??)
and his comrades said that they moved his body some 100-200 meters and when
they so he doesn't live any more, they left his body.
What I have heard his body might be in some trench or "korsu". Many times,
remains of finnish soldiers were but in the treches and the some soil over
their bodies.
Well, maybe this helps for start. I'm so glad that I found some help from
Russia, because Finland is stopping these search missions and that's why I
have turn to the local people who might know something about this issues.
I'm very happy if there is ANYTHING just ANYTHING around this issue what the
locals or the researchers know: ID tags, anything!! Anything is better than
nothing.
