Английский историк, пишущий книгу о фортификации 19 века, ищет людей в России, с которыми он бы мог сотрудничать. Русского языка он не знает. Вот, что ему нужно:
Basically, I am looking for a scholar who has done research on Cronstadt’s defenses during the 19th-century—particularly during the Crimean War (1853-1856). This is, again, when Great Britain was convinced Cronstadt COULD be successfully attacked by 1855—by ironclad steam batteries and long-range mortar boats. Professor Andrew Lambert is the chief architect of this theory…
I am organizing an edited book, a collection of essays by historians from around the world (British, American, French, Russian, South African) who want to look at just how effective coastal assault/attack and defense was during the 19th century—especially between 1815 and 1914.
So I would like to find a Russian scholar (a Russian university professor, perhaps?) who knows about Cronstadt and who is hopefully willing to contribute a good chapter/article on this subject (about 7-9,000 words total). WAS Cronstadt that vulnerable to British naval power by the end of the Crimean War or not? What about after the war? This book will hopefully serve as Russia’s chance to challenge the Lambert thesis, perhaps.
Can you help me find someone who would and could be able to offer a chapter for this book? The title of the book is called:
‘Twixt Sea & Shore: Tactical Ambiguities, Strategic Misconceptions and Political Issues of Coastal Assault and Defense during the Pax Britannica
University press of Florida will likely publish it. I’m hoping to have it done this year.
Как видите, его цель - доказать, что британский флот никак не мог атаковать и захватить Кронштадт. Необходимо помочь с материалами на английском.
